Cropping Reference Images

Hi everyone, sometimes, but not always, I use reference images for my artworks. Most the time I take my own photographs, that just makes it easier. For the times I don't, I always make sure the copyright is respected.

A lot of times I also use my old sketches, rough sketches too as my reference material. That works too!

Today I wanted to show you how I crop my reference pictures to make sure they have square sides. This is a photo printed on regular printer paper, which is then mounted to a thicker paper.

Oh and in case you are wondering, yes (in the video), that is a whiskey bottle and a vodka bottle in the corner there. The one is filled with sand and pretty things for decor, the other one I still need to get some decor things for. Remember, drink responsibly! See video below.
