Studio Vault Monday
Today I wanted to share some more items with you from the studio vault.
You might have noticed some of the original art and jewelry currently aren't actively listed in the store. In these blog posts, we will share some of the items from the studio vault. If you are interested in any of these, please don't hesitate to contact us and make an offer. Just keep in mind that the items may be sold.
Ocean Odyssey
| "Ocean Odyssey" is an acrylic marine life painting on a smooth beach stone, created by animal artist Gunilla Wachtel. Nature's ocean waves has created the wonderful beach stone on which I created this serene blue oceanic marine life painting, titled "Ocean Odyssey." The pendant is shown next to a quarter for size comparison. Painted with acrylic paints, this orca art pendant has also been varnished with a few layers of UV-resistant clear coat. "Ocean Odyssey" comes with a luxurious, smooth turquoise satin cord. This earthy nature necklace secures with a hand drilled river rock button clasp. "Ocean Odyssey" was painted and created by artist Gunilla Wachtel from Kanweienea Kreations studio. Wearing this necklace is a great way to connect with the ocean. The specifics: West coast beach rock pendant: app. 2" x 2.5" x 1/4" (50 mm x 63 mm x 6.3 mm) Satin cord Clasp: hand drilled river rock button Length: app. 23" (58.4 cm) Title: "Ocean Odyssey" Series: "Ocean Wonders" (5/10) The back of the pendant is left unpainted (minus a few marks of paint that escaped my brush!). This way, besides seeing the natural texture of the beach stone, you can also feel the ocean touch when you hold the pendant. I have also initialed and dated the back of the pendant. Orca Lookout
| Smooth and a little bit asymmetrical, this natural beach stone has a beautiful painting of an orca spyhopping. Nature's ocean waves has created the amazing eco friendly canvas on which I created this beautiful marine life painting, titled "Orca Lookout." Painted with acrylic paints, this pendant has also been varnished with a few layers of UV-resistant clear coat. This beach stone pendant comes with a satin cord that is secured with a hand drilled river rock button. "Orca Lookout" was painted and created by artist Gunilla Wachtel from Kanweienea Kreations studio. The specifics: West coast beach rock pendant: app. 2.5" x 1.5" x 1/4" (63.5 mm x 38 mm x 6.3 mm) Satin cord Clasp: hand drilled river rock button Length: app. 25" (63.5 cm) Title: "Orca Lookout" Series: "Ocean Wonders" (3/10) The back of the pendant is left unpainted (minus a few marks of paint that escaped my brush!). This is a heavier pendant. I have also initialed and dated the back of the pendant. The smooth and shiny turquoise satin cord has been carefully selected to complete this design. It was chosen because of it's almost Pacific Ocean color adding to the whole feel of the ocean created canvas. It creates a very sophisticated look. This chunky pendant is so smooth to hold and wearing this classy necklace is almost like wearing a piece of the ocean with you! Nature friendly, this West Coast beach stone is drilled in studio. It is then carefully washed and let dry. I then create a design appropriate to the shape of the beach rock. Once allowed to dry, I then varnish the pendant, creating a better protection against the elements. The shape, the feel, the ecological aspect to using rocks to paint on really adds up to a great way to create art. Summer Bliss
| "Summer Bliss" Perfect for horse lovers, this acrylic painting of a horse grazing is created on an ocean shore beach stone pendant. The beach rock is carefully selected to match the artwork and colors. The pendant as well as the button rock clasp are hand drilled in studio. This eco-friendly, unique handmade necklace for any horse lover is completed using a smooth satin cord and a hand-picked river rock button clasp. A pretty snake knot creates the bail for this pendant (no metal closures). A pretty grey horse is grazing on a beautiful summer's day. The pretty turquoise colored cord creates a beautiful contrast against the colors of the pendant. Painted with professional acrylic paints, this stone pendant has also been varnished with a few layers of UV-resistant clear coat.
