An inside look at the studio

My studio, is upstairs and downstairs.. and sometimes at my computer desk too. However, I have most of my art studio upstairs so I can try and stay organized with paints, brushes, canvases, inventory and more. During summer I often try to airbrush downstairs in the garage, but it gets way too cold in winter. So I have a special filter fan I put in the window when airbrushing upstairs. I must admit, there is sometimes more dog hair on the carpet then you can see in the pictures. Cleo is a cutie, but she is very fluffy and she does shed. We clean the carpet often lol.

For the studio pictures today I got Cleo to get up in her favorite chair, Tiggy checked out stuff too, and even Missy the kitty came up to get her picture taken. Missy often will lay next to the drafting table and keep me company. She has also several times tried to wake me up in the middle of the night to tell me to come out in the studio and work. She is a nocturnal kitty mostly after all. That's okay in a way because if I'm not feeling well (pretty much at all) Missy tries to make sure I try to rest or at least take it easy. She has quite the intensive look as you might be able to tell in the one photo. Although in that photo she happened to be giving Cleo the look of "not any closer, PUPPY!"

So, without further ado, here are some photos from my studio and where I create most of my art. Enjoy!

Newfoundland Dog 32 - graphite drawing by Gunilla Wachtel

Ludde..... the drawing I made of him has been made into prints, but the original is in my own collection keeping me company in the studio. See the little fluff ball in the corner? That is one of his baby pictures.... There is a bit of glare to the picture due to the camera. I don't have a filter to put on it and without the flash the picture would barely work at all... yes, new camera is on the wish list.

Rocks to be painted - Gunilla Wachtel studio

Rocks waiting to be painted! Well one of them I had started painting a while ago, but haven't had a chance to finish that one yet.

Studio tour showing some of my brushes. Yes, they are clean lol. Some of the blue paints stain the brushes and I do like my blue paints still! :)

Another view of my upstairs studio area. Our kids like to make me lots of drawings so I tend to put a lot of those up in the studio area too.

Baby Cleo!

Baby Cleo! Picture turned out a little dark because so bright outside but you can still see that Cleo is pretty close to the drafting table.

Usually Missy doesn't sit in the window by the drafting table, and she knows she should stay off the table itself. However, today she was in the window! She wanted her picture taken too probably. If you are wondering about her look, turns out Cleo was RIGHT behind me and they are trying to eye each other out.... They get along, but not as well as Tiggy and Cleo do.
