Custom Horse Portraits: Bringing Your Horse to Life on Paper

There’s something about a horse’s eyes, the way they reflect trust, curiosity, or sometimes (at times a lot!) just a bit of mischief. As a horse pencil artist, my goal is to capture those little details that make your horse so uniquely them.

When you commission a portrait, you’re not just ordering art. You’re asking me to tell your horse’s story in pencil, every shading, every soft line, every highlight meant to honor the bond you share.

Why a Commission?

Photos are wonderful, but a hand-drawn portrait brings a different kind of presence and connection. It’s not just a likeness, it's also a reflection of how you see your horse. Maybe it’s the proud tilt of their head, the way their ears flick toward you, or the softness around their muzzle (so soft!) that melts your heart. My job is to capture that essence.

How It Works

All I need is a clear reference photo (or a few!) and any notes about what matters most to you. From there, I’ll sketch, shade, and refine until the drawing feels alive. I take my time with each portrait. These aren’t rushed pieces. Each one is carefully layered with pencil strokes that bring out depth, light, and soul.
