Inside the Studio: How My Horse Pencil Art Comes to Life
In the Studio: Where Horse Art Meets Heart and Soul
There’s something magical about a quiet evening in the studio: just me, a sketchpad, and the memory of a horse’s gaze. If you’ve ever felt a spark of connection, you know some of the feeling that fuels my art.
1. Inspiration in Every Mane and Tail
My greatest muse is, of course, Yggdrasil, my own horse. His curious ears, soft muzzle, and expressive eyes often find their way into my drawings. Even when I’m working from reference photos, I infuse each piece with the warmth and personality I know so well.
2. From Sketch to Signature
I always start with light, loose pencil lines, mapping out the horse’s proportions. Slowly, I layer in shading to bring depth to the coat, muscles and softness to the eyes. It’s not just about accuracy and detail, although I do strive for a lot of detail in my drawings, it’s about breathing life into paper so that each horse almost feels ready to step out of the frame.
3. Art That Fits Your Space
My pencil art isn’t just for horse lovers — it’s for anyone who appreciates a touch of equine elegance. These prints look beautiful in tack rooms, cozy reading corners, or modern living spaces in need of a timeless, equestrian accent.
Your Turn to Bring the Beauty Home
