Thursday evening in the studio

The air is cool after all the rain. There was that fresh air smell outside, you know, after the rain has settled. A mixture of grass, summer and rain. I'm at my computer now, but the day is calm and still now. I'll be getting ready to work in the studio here later. At night, my pencils seem to move more slowly, yet efficiently in the stillness of evening. Those, and the hour/hours spent with my horse, are the hours where I lose track of time—just me, the sketchbook, and the memory of how a horse moved that day. It’s not always productive, but it’s usually peaceful, at least in between the cats running around doing their cat thing.
