Here's a List of Goals I'm Working On
Today I thought I'd share with you a few of the goals I'm working on.
In the Studio
Here are some of the goals I'm currently working on:
Studio Practice - 2 hours daily
Working from home, for me, involves not only running the business but also taking care of the house. It also includes explaining to people more than once that working from home, doesn't just mean that all you do is housework.
It got to the point where we now have phone turned off, at least during the day. If it's important enough, they'll leave a message.
Some days are busier than others but I always try to get some studio time done. The goal here though, is to have a consistent studio practice for about 2 hours daily, or at least Monday - Friday.
Refresh my French
I used to be practically fluent in French. That was quite some time ago though, so lately I've just been trying to get semi fluent. I have what is sometimes called, a "language ear." I also enjoy learning different languages.
For those of you that don't know or forgot, I'm Swedish by origin but I've lived in the United States for many years now. Yes, I really am a true Swedish-American.
Learn basic Japanese
Learning Japanese is something I've meant to do since we were living in Hawaii. This year I found a free app to start learning some basics.
My favorite word in Japanese? Well, of course, the horse! The Japanese word for horse is uma.
Featured Artwork
This is one of my favorite quotes: "When I look into the eyes of an animal I do not see an animal. I see a living being. I see a friend. I see a soul." ~ Anthony Douglas Williams.
For today's featured artwork I chose one of my more recent animal drawings, "Friends." Here is a link to a print of the original drawing.
Random Thoughts and Not so Random Thoughts
I've been trying to streamline my website some lately. I love to both draw and paint. I love the beach stone jewelry we have made too.
My business time involves a lot of marketing time too, but to the point where I don't have time to create all this different artwork. Blazey and Tuxie want me in the studio, and they are right, as animals often are. I have to try and find a balance for creating/marketing. Hiring someone to help out with it, is currently not an option. I might list some of the other items on eBay.
For right now anyways, I think I'll be focusing on the drawings.
What are some of the goals you are working on?
Artist. Animal lover. Swedish-American.
