Pages from the Sketchbook and Adventures on Horseback
I realized I had forgotten to post pictures here for almost a week now. So, here is a roundup of different pencil sketches.
In the Studio
I like to draw different animals, and lately, I've been trying to sketch more sharks.
I did get more work done on concept sketches this past week, although I didn't have time to keep up with the blogging as much then.
Another horse sketch in progress. I love my big Canson sketchpad. At least for drawing quicker sketches etc. I prefer Bristol for the actual drawings.
This was a fun and quick concept sketch drawing. More horses of course.
Behind the Scenes
WOOHOO!!!! This past weekend we went on a trail ride. It was hubby, our oldest son and I. Our younger son wanted to go on a camping trip with his friend instead, but hopefully will be able to come along with us another time.
It had been 6 years just about since I got to go horseback riding last time. So, I was completely stoked about going. I tried to play it cool and all before, but ya know, the horsey girl in me just couldn't wait!!!
I used to ride for many years on a regular basis, showjumping etc. Then, as things can be, I ended up not being able to go horseback riding more than like once every few (or more) years.
That's hubby in the background on the paint horse (Mr. Pickles), and me on the chestnut horse (Romeo). I'm not sure who was on the white horse, but there were quite a few of us enjoying a trail ride on this nice day. This was hubby's second time on a horse and our son's first. Hopefully they'll soon be as excited about horseback riding as I am!
Well, our boy didn't take a selfie, but here is the super cute and calm horse our son rode. I think both him and the horse did an awesome job. What a sweetie this horse (Alex) was too - perfect beginner horse!

This is one of my older horse drawings, but still one of my favorites.
Random Thoughts and Not so Random Thoughts
I'm still trying to figure out a social media schedule that works for me, as well as revising my blog post schedule.
After the trail ride I'm pretty inspired to draw even more horses - so it's time for me to get some work done.
Enjoy your day!
